Please can you help with a question about miniupnpd configuration - from the linksysinfo tomato forums.

In the example conf file - for example the one at
https://github.com/miniupnp/miniupnp/blob/master/miniupnpd/miniupnpd.conf

wherever an ip/mask is referenced it suggests the mask must be in CIDR format nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn/nn. But it appears the Linux source code actually supports either CIDR or the 'dot decimal' 192.168.100.0/255.255.255.0 style format.

CIDR is obviously more compact, but is there any reason not to mention the alternative in the example?

It is historical : at first only CIDR notation was supported. Then support was added for the "dot decimal" format, but it is still advised to use CIDR.
