Hi,

I installed and configured MiniUPnPd on Debian 6.06, via the experimental package, and the daemon is running OK.

I have enabled IPv6 on my router box (for some learning and experimentation), but I am still principally using IPv4.

When MiniUPnPd is running, and I do a:

Code:
netstat -nlp | grep upnp

I can see a listener attached to port 49152 or 49153 but against 'tcp6'. There is no listener on regular 'tcp' (IPv4).

I think this is why my UPnP requests are going nowhere, and when I use a test client on Windows it can't find my UPnP server.

Is this a bug? I don't really want to turn off IPv6, as it's the future... or am I being stupid - does the tcp6 listener hear the tcp4 requests?

Thanks,
Dave

Yes !
This behaviour is configurable : see man ipv6.
IPV6_V6ONLY / /proc/sys/net/ipv6/bindv6only etc.

I recently added V6SOCKETS_ARE_V6ONLY macro for systems which dont receive v4 connections on v6 sockets.
