Thanks,
I sem to be the only user having any issues (old PC sometimes loses the Interconnection icon in windoze, and fails the microsoft test, but reboot PC and it works).
There's still a couple of 'features' Tomato's old bespoke upnp had
1) Option to hide the windows Interconnection icon and pop-up - something to do with optionally having a blank presentation_url
and
2) Tomato's version used to dynamically include the local LAN IP and WAN IP as the windows icon name - if it was displayed... |

I guess you're right, I had written that comment :

* in "Network connections" in Windows XP if it is not present. */

I have to try if an empty presentation_url can be set using the commandline or .conf file. _________________ Main miniUPnP author.

miniupnp,
Unfortunately the empty presentation URL in the config file or the command line results in the default URL being used by the clients (i.e. IP_ADDRESS:HTTP_PORT). To hide UPnP server from My Network Places, the presentation URL should be completely missing from the description, not just be empty.
For my Tomato mod, I applied a dirty hack to your code to not include presentation URL into the description if it's set to "none" or "no" in the config file - you can see it here. It works fine, but I'm sure you can do it in much better way - I just wanted to minimize the changes I make to your code... It would be very nice if you include this feature into your future releases .
And thank you very much for this great software! |

Thanks to the integration into his Tomato mod by Teddy_Bear, Miniupnpd was picked up by Victek and a Chinese Dual Wan version. It has now made it into "mainstream" Tomato, replacing the former upnp service, but no GUI support for extra options such as rule cleaning, null presentation url - but I'm sure the mods will put this back in! |
