I have tried to run the provided windows binary of miniupnpc, but it fails right as it opens...does anyone know why this would happen?

I tried running the upnpc - static.exe and also the other exe and it just opens and closes instantly. That is suppose to be the UPnP client sample program right?

oh ok thanks

I tried running it with upnpc.exe -s

but have been getting "No IGD UPnP Device found on the network!"

I have upnp enabled on my router and on my pc. My router is a linksys wrt54gs. Do you think my router probably just not compatible with this?

or am I doing something wrong?

miniupnp is known to work with the WRT54GS.
maybe your firewall software is blocking packets. That's the more probable Smile

My firewall on my pc is disabled..the router firewall has

Checked Block Anonymous Internet Requests
Checked Filter Multicast
Filter Internet NAT Redirection
Checked Filter IDENT(Port 113)

Tried disabling them all, but no success. My router was discovered using another tool though, possibly my firmware is preventing it from working? I have Firmware Version: v1.50.6 on it.

It could also be that yo uhave several network interfaces on your PC and that miniupnpc is using the wrong one.

Yeah that was it. I was able to connect to the router successfully. I can also list the redirections, but it is failing to add port mappings.

[....]

AddPortMapping(60000, 60000, 192.168.1.109) failed with code 718
GetSpecificPortMappingEntry() failed with code 714

No fatal error :
718 ConflictInMappingEntry - The port mapping entry specified conflicts with a mapping assigned previously to another client

Try with another port Smile
