I dont understand your question.
Device discovery is the initial step to obtain the device description.

Hi:
UPNP protocols includes Device discovery(step1),Device description(step2),Device control(step3),Device event(step4) and Device presentatin(step5).
"After a control point has (1)discovered a device and (2)retrived a description of the device, the control point is ready to begin presentaion"(Refer to "UPnP Device Architecture 1.1",chapter 5,page106).Does that mean that I can realize the function of Device presentation without Device control(step3),Device event(step4).
Thanks.

I should read again the UPnP docs, but I guess that "device presentation" is done through opening the presentationURL into the web browser...
And yes it can be done without "device control" or "device event".

Hello:
BTW,does the service description of Device description(step 2) is necessary to Device presentation?
In another words,Device description(step2) includes device description and service description, but the presentation URL was proposed in the
XML of device description,so I think I could ignore the service description if I only realize the Device presentation feature.
Does my idea right or wrong?
Thanks!
