|
|
A second issue I've encountered is installations where our device is connected to a router which is in turn connected to another router. For example:
Our device (192.168.1.x)
|
V
Router 1 (192.168.1.1 internal)
Router 1 (10.0.0.x external)
|
V
Router 2 (10.0.0.1 internal)
Router 2 (wan address external)
|
V
Internet
In this scenario, is there any reasonable way to
1) Figure out the topology
2) Set up ports through both routers
Any help, suggestions, guidance, or sympathy greatly appreciated.

I expected that - thanks for the link. Have to chew on that for a while. I suppose if all the gateway devices have non-routable wan addresses, I could at least alert the user that they're likely behind a second router and suggest that they connect to the upstream router instead. Better than throwing up our hands and quitting. |
