Does this program completely replace Microsoft's own services if they're not installed/enabled? I wonder, because Server 2003 doesn't support UPnP without the XtraServices.INF hack. Having a fallthrough implementation would be great if writing a client program so that recompiling to a different OS from the developer's isn't so annoying.

miniUPnPd does not support running on a Windows router/gateway.

MiniUPnPd can control PF, IPF and Netfilter firewalls/NAT. It does not support Windows server 2003 own firewall API.

Also MiniUPnPd is designed to run on a posix system (Linux, *BSD, Solaris, etc...) so there would be some porting effort to get it running on a MS Windows System.

And let me guess - Unix services for Windows isn't exactly common to install, not to mention I bet it doesn't have the specific functionality on purpose. Wink

Of course, you can try to run miniupnpd in Unix services or cygwin emulation under Windows and use a Windows backend which will manipulate Windows fireall API. But this will require writing such a backend ;) see topic "Several public IPs and generic redirecting engine" in this forum.
