Hi all,

Sorry for my poor English first. And I post same question on OpenWrt forum too.

I am a new guy in Openwrt. I want to use the upnp function.

I use Kamikaze (r19378) and Miniupnpd 1.4-1(using opkg to install).

I use the upnpc(Win32) to test it, it seems work.

But when using utorrent (2.0), I just get the message by utorrent.

[2010-02-11 10:53:58] UPnP: Found location from upnp notify: http:server/rootDesc.xml
[2010-02-11 10:53:58] DEBUG: UPnP: Got a reply/notify event

I think maybe the rootDesc.xml is invalid for utorrent. But I have no idea what's wrong...

The rootDesc.xml is the default response by miniupnpd.

Is the miniupnpd work with utorrent? or need to configure?

I use the upnpc(Win32) to list and add port, it is ok.

So maybe the rootDesc.xml is invalid for utorrent??

The only strange stuff in the xml is UDN>uuid:00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000</UDN>. You should use -u command line option or uuid= in config file to set an uuid.

The utorrent message "UPnP: Could not map UPnP Port on this pass, retrying." is not precise enough to understand what's going on.

Maybe utorrent dont like that because 192.168.x are usually /24 ?

anyway, have you tried to use NAT-PMP instead of UPnP ? You may have more success.

Sorry for replay so late, because the Chinese New Year vocation.

I changed the uuid but it does not work too.

I used wireshark to capture some messages.

utorrent always gets:
Code:

HTTP/1.1 200 OK
CACHE-CONTROL: max-age=120
ST: upnp:rootdevice
USN: uuid:00-1c-f0-81-b3-50-0100a8c00::upnp:rootdevice
EXT:
SERVER: OpenWRT/kamikaze UPnP/1.0 MiniUPnPd/1.4
LOCATION: http://192.168.8.43:5000/rootDesc.xml

the upnpc gets:
Code:

HTTP/1.1 200 OK
CACHE-CONTROL: max-age=120
ST: urn:schemas-upnp-org:device:InternetGatewayDevice:1
USN: uuid:00-1c-f0-81-b3-50-0100a8c00::urn:schemas-upnp-org:device:InternetGatewayDevice:1
EXT:
SERVER: OpenWRT/kamikaze UPnP/1.0 MiniUPnPd/1.4
LOCATION: http://192.168.8.43:5000/rootDesc.xml

ST and USN are different. Maybe it's the root cause.
How the miniupnpd to decide the ssdp reponse messages?

It depend on the M-SEARCH message.
I guess utorrent is searching for "upnp:rootdevice"

have you still the problem with more recent versions of uTorrent and/or MiniUPnPd ?

I'm wondering if other people have this problem with uTorrent and miniupnpd.

I can confirm uTorrent and MiniUPnPd v1.5 works.

Just takes uTorrent a minute until MiniUPnPd gets to its next notify interval.

Is uTorrent good for downloading movies? I just wanted to download movies to my computer so I can watch it on my iPod Touch or save it to a flash drive or whatever....but I wanted to know if uTorrent is good to use. I know its illegal and most uTorrent downloads have viruses but I just want to know if downloading movies from uTorrent will work good.

Bumping this as uTorrent doesn't like miniupnpd anymore.

Possible Windows 7 error as googling returns results of people with success using XP and Vista, but not Windows 7.

When using Windows XP, uPnP mapping still fails with the above error, but NAT-PMP mapping is successful.

I dont know what is this error -2...
Have you run the logs from miniupnpd ? I dont know if utorrent is failing to recognise miniupnpd just by parsing the descriptions or if it calls some soap methods which are failing.

The only entry in the log that may relate to this is:
Code:
May 20 14:03:25 bob miniupnpd[7819]: /DP.xml not found, responding ERROR 404

I can only assume something in the layout of the rootDesc.xml from miniupnpd is making uTorrent believe it is not a router, whereas the output from my home ADSL router makes uTorrent believe it is..

EDIT:
I had built miniupnp with v2 support -- without this uTorrent successfully maps ports. So it seems that v2 support conflicts with uTorrent (and possibly other programs).

How exactly does v2 support work? I assumed it could work in parallel with v1 and have backward compatibility?

On a side note, I cannot compile the latest version 20110520. It fails with the following error:
Code:
bob@bob:~/miniupnpd-1.5.20110520# IPTABLESPATH=../iptables-1.4.7 make -f Makefile.linux
cc  -L../iptables-1.4.7/libiptc/  miniupnpd.o upnphttp.o upnpdescgen.o upnpsoap.o upnpreplyparse.o minixml.o upnpredirect.o getifaddr.o daemonize.o upnpglobalvars.o options.o upnppermissions.o minissdp.o natpmp.o upnpevents.o upnputils.o getconnstatus.o linux/getifstats.o linux/ifacewatcher.o netfilter/iptcrdr.o ../iptables-1.4.7/libiptc/.libs/libip4tc.o   -o miniupnpd
cc: linux/ifacewatcher.o: No such file or directory
make: *** [miniupnpd] Error 1
